REYP is a project managed and delivered in partnership by KIEP and
Challenger TAFE, with support from Uniting Care West and funding by
FACSIA.
REYP provides young parents and pregnant teenagers with a viable
alternative to dropping out of school and the support required to
become economically independent. The program also creates a safe
environment for tackling many of the challenges associated with being a
young parent.
REYP is designed to assist young parents, primarily mothers, and
pregnant teenagers in Rockingham, to complete their education through
flexible delivery in an off-site venue with appropriate child care
facilities. Participants also undertake peer education and parenting
skills programs to provide them with the skills, knowledge and positive
attitudes essential for positively relating to and caring for their
children.
