The Kwinana Industrial Area provides the schools of the Rockingham and Kwinana region with rich opportunities for contextualising classroom science and creating meaningful collaborative relationships between those in education and those in industry. Through its various initiatives, Real World Science (RWS) aims to cultivate industry-education partnerships that stimulate student interest in science-based careers and contribute to the development of a scientifically literate community. Additionally, RWS endeavours to coordinate appropriate professional development for teachers in local schools and facilitate the development of contextualised teaching resources that highlight the science occurring in local industries.
